A magnitude 4.8 earthquake has been recorded in Western Australia early in the present day.
It occurred about 180km east of Perth within the Wheatbelt area, simply after 2am (AWST).
Geoscience Australia says the earthquake started close to the city of Wyalkatchem at a depth of 1km.
It was felt extensively all through the state’s south-west, together with Perth and so far as Kalgoorlie.
No injury has been reported.
