9 employees have been killed and one injured in an accident at a thermal energy plant that’s beneath development in Chennai, ANI information company reported on Tuesday, citing a authorities official.
The incident occurred when a metal arch collapsed at a development website on the Ennore SEZ Supercritical Thermal Energy Undertaking, mentioned J. Radhakrishnan, secretary of the Tamil Nadu Electrical energy Board and chairman of the plant’s proprietor, Tamil Nadu Era and Distribution Company.
Officers from BHEL, which is the contractor of the undertaking, are current on the accident website, Radhakrishnan advised reporters in a video posted on X by ANI, during which Reuters has a minority stake.
